Who we're looking for

• PhD in synthetic organic or medicinal chemistry with 5+ years drug discovery or medicinal chemistry experience
• Strong record of productivity as demonstrated by publications.
• Expertise in synthetic organic chemistry
• Chemistry team leadership experience advancing hits to leads and candidate status.
• An understanding of drug design principles, DMPK, tox, etc.
• Experience mentoring other chemists.

Responsibilities

• Undertake data analysis to assess the results of experiments and the characteristics of the molecules produced
• Ensure the structure and purity of compounds are correct
• Write up experiments accurately
• Work closely with other scientific colleagues across different disciplines
• Use computational techniques to model the properties of new molecules
• Explore how it may be possible to 'scale up' production of useful compounds that are created
• Keep up to date with scientific literature
